Mobile Medicare Unit For Aged People

The Mobile Medicare Unit for the aged was started in the year 1994. The purpose of Aged Welfare MMU is to provide medical services which include diagnosis, treatment, therapy and referrals to Govt. Hospitals for advanced treatment. The beneficiaries covered are poor rural old aged people living in remote villages who doesn’t have quick access for medical aid.  This programme is being implemented in 48  villages of Irala & Pakala Mandals of  Chittoor Dist. A.P. The MMU team consists of a qualified and trained medical doctor, a nurse, one social worker who will visit the villages with specific action plan to treat the already identified needy patients and enroll new patients.  The team will have basic diagnostic equipment and medicines which are supplied free of cost. The registration medical camps and treatment to the rural old aged people is a continuous process.  The Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment (MSJE), Govt. of India is supporting this project.  801 aged beneficiaries accessed / availed all the project services.  The organization is planning to expand the services to uncovered / unreached needy aged in  2018-2019
