Aim
To provide comprehensive services for the mentally handicapped.
Objective

Rehabilitation of mentally retarded children through education and training to make them as independent as possible.

To develop innovative and improvised methods of care of the retarded, so that the children are helped to develop their skills and talents to the maximum possible extent, towards their self-dependence.

Services
This Special School is located at Chittoor District, A.P. is having 100 children with mental retardation in the age range of 3 to 16 years. Children are grouped into pre-primary, primary, secondary and pre-vocational levels. Admission is offered for a period of 2 years to children with mental retardation who have been regularly attending the group activity training programme of the Institute. The children are also provided systematic training and in addition participate in extra-curricular activities which include music, dance, drama, sports and other recreational activities. Parents family interaction in all programmes is encourages.

Assessment of children from 0-5 for impending disability. 
Diagnostic evaluation of children from 0-5 years with delayed development.
Developmental therapy.
Early Social Integration.

Parent Training and
Referral services.
